Christmas Drink Recipes

Spicy Christmas Punch

Difficulty: Easy
Serves: 5-10


  • 1 litre pineapple juice
  • 1 litre cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1 litre carrot juice
  • 1.5 litres of dry ginger ale (or a bottle of champagne/sparking wine)
  • cinnamon sticks
  • cloves
  • star anise
  • orange slices
  • (optional) 1 cup of either fresh cranberries or pomegranate arils


    1. The night before, mix the cranberry and carrot juice and add a few cinnamon sticks, a small handful of cloves and sliced star anise, to give the mixture time for the spices to be thoroughly infused into the base juice.
    2. The next day, when your guests are just about to start arriving, pour your pre-mixed cranberry and carrot juice into a large punch bowl and add the lemon juice, pineapple juice and your choice of either dry ginger ale (for a non-alcoholic buzz), or sparking wine.
    3. For a fresh look and fragrance, add some more cinnamon sticks, star anise, orange slices and optionally fresh cranberries or pomegranate arils.
    4. Serve chilled, or on ice.
